Many cake designers use a price per portion as the basis for pricing their cakes. Typically this is the base cost for a simple, undecorated cake, with additional design features like gold leaf, flowers, props added on top.

For a professional Custom designed cake, you should expect a minimum price per serving of €8,50-€9,50+.
​
The above price per portion is for a “DESSERT” sized serving which is typically a 1x2inch (2.5x5cm) slice of cake, presented on the left of this photo.
Bluebird cakes are always based on this "DESSERT" serving size:

Wedding cakes can also be served in a smaller “COFFEE” sized portions which are half the size - 1x1inch (2.5x2.5cm).
